As a native English Speaker, your child will have already developed English language skills, combining multiple words to form sentences. We continue this exposure to the English Language introducing a greater range of vocabulary through storytelling, project-based learning and peer interaction.

​​​​Recognising the sounds that individual letters and combinations of letters make is crucial for learning to read and write independently. By teaching students to identify and understand the relationship between letters and sounds, phonics establishes a solid foundation for developing strong reading and writing skills.

This is the process of storing a word permanently in our memory for instant retrieval (Ehri 2014, Kilpatrick 2015). Our brains use what we know about letter-sound relationships as well as our awareness of speech sounds to map letter patterns and words together as units. During this course, we teach your child through the process of Orthographic Mapping. 

This is taught discretely, through fun, interactive sessions. Incorporating gross and fine motor skills, your child will be taught accurate letter formation.
